Patsy Leak Almanza

Funeral services for Mrs. Patsy Leak Almanza will be conducted Wednesday November 17, 2021 at Philadelphia UMC Cemetery at 1:00 PM Rev. Charles Bethea officiating. "Ms. Patti Marchell Leak Almanza, born Patsy Marchell Leak and affectionately known as ""Lucy"", departed this life on November 12, 2021, at her home in Hamlet, NC. “Lucy” was born November 27, 1960, to the late Mr. Percy Leak, Jr. and the late Mrs. Margaret Wall Leak. She attended Richmond County Schools and held many jobs during her adult life including Spanish interpreter, notary public, writer/author, tax preparer, repossession agent, and substitute teacher. “Lucy” was a very intelligent woman with many gifts and talents. Her unique approach to life and her bold self-expression made her stand out among others. She had a great love for cats, reading, writing, cooking, politics, and helping those who could not help themselves. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Miguel; seven “cat-babies,” Mama, Grey, Tiger-Roo, Blue, Blondie, Chunky-Monkey, and Sunshine; one brother, Michael Leak (Myra); two nieces; one nephew; four great nephews; one great-great niece; eight aunts; two uncles; a special God-daughter; and, a host of cousins and friends.
